PensionHunter · Cross-Border Pension Research
There may be a pension in your name in a country you left. Nobody will write to tell you.
We identify who is holding the pensions in your name, in 41 countries, wherever you live now. Fixed fee of 99 dollars, delivered in 24 to 48 hours. Nothing to pay to find out whether it is worth doing.
Also used by executors, trustees and advisers acting for someone else.
- Answer a few questions about where you worked, or paste your LinkedIn profile to save typing. Either works.
AI can answer pension questions. It cannot tell you where your lost pensions are.
Don't postpone finding your pensions. Some countries have important deadlines after you leave.
The sooner you start, the more options you keep.
Your family will thank you.

Claim
Your old US employer was allowed to move a balance of up to 7,000 dollars out of its plan without asking you. At or below 1,000 dollars it could be mailed as a cheque to the last address it had. These force-out IRAs appear in no public database.
- Source
- 26 U.S.C. 401(a)(31)(B), IRS Notice 2026-34
- Date
- 26 August 2026
- Status
- Verified against the statute and against IRS Notice 2026-34, which the IRS pointed us to when we asked. Permits, not requires: whether your old plan used 5,000 or 7,000 is in the plan document, not in any public database.
This is the product: a claim you can act on, with a source you can check and a date we verified it. Every finding in your report is built the same way.

Why this exists
This is about workplace pensions and often forgotten state pensions.
"I am Frank Marco Holle, founder of PensionHunter. We built PensionHunter because I could not find my own pensions."

My career in finance began as an academic researcher at the University of Utrecht, then took me to ABN AMRO in Amsterdam, to Merrill Lynch in London, and later to institutional asset management in Malaysia and Singapore. Along the way I worked for organisations that had changed names, merged, been acquired or no longer existed. Like millions of people who have worked internationally, I discovered that finding old pensions was far more difficult than anyone expects.
The problem was not simply knowing where to look. Employers had disappeared. Pension administrators had changed. Records were fragmented across countries, and every address held for me was decades out of date. Tracing my own pension history took months of research, correspondence and verification.
That experience led me to develop a structured research methodology for tracing workplace and state pensions across borders. It combines technology with human expertise, employer history reconstruction, corporate records, pension databases, public registers and country-specific research carried out by specialists who understand how pension systems work in their own jurisdictions.
The first case that methodology ever solved was my own.
Today, it forms the foundation of PensionHunter. Every search follows the same disciplined process, combining AI with experienced researchers and a global network of pension experts to uncover information that generic searches, government portals and AI alone often cannot.
The method we use today is the one I created to solve my own pension search. Now it helps people around the world solve theirs.
The cause
Why this happens
Schemes do not lose the money. They lose the person.
You move on, then you move house. The scheme writes to an address you left years ago, the employer is bought, renamed or wound up, and the file passes to an administrator you have never heard of. The long version, with sources.
Ten seconds
Did you work in another country for a year or more?
Then there is a fair chance a pension record with your name on it is still sitting in that country. Employers there paid into it. Nobody writes to tell you.
The self test
Could this be you?
Four questions. Tap the ones that are true for you.
The evidence
See exactly what you get, before you decide.
If you have been putting this off for years, you are exactly who we built this for. Pensions are rarely gone: usually the scheme simply lost track of you.
Every report contains:
- Every administrator identified, with verified contact route
- The exact request to make of each, spelled out
- Your State Pension position and the deadlines that apply
- Sources and a confidence rating on every finding
- Human review before release
