Netherlands · Backdating limit
Dutch AOW state pension arrears are capped: the pension cannot start earlier than the first day of the twelfth month before the day you applied, so waiting to claim permanently loses the older entitlement unless the SVB treats your case as special.
The law states the pension cannot commence earlier than the first day of the twelfth month before the application (or before an ex officio award); the Sociale verzekeringsbank may deviate from this in special cases.
