7. Refund Policy

Meaning of "findings of meaningful value". A finding of meaningful value is material access delivered by the research: in markets with public provider-level identification (STRONG_ID pattern, e.g. the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, France, Switzerland), a named fund or administrator holding the Client's pension together with the sourced route to contact them; in markets where no public service can identify a specific provider from employment history alone (guidance-value patterns: WALLED, NO_MAPPING, THIN, CORRESPONDENCE and GRATUITY_ENTITLEMENT), the genuine access-map — what exists, where the Client's record sits, the deadlines and traps that affect its value, and the sourced route in — together with the Client's entitlement position. The report is refunded in full where it delivers nothing material under the pattern that applies to the Client's country. Both patterns are equally capable of constituting findings of meaningful value; neither is treated as inferior. For the purpose of this section, research delivers "findings of meaningful value" where it produces EITHER of the following, attributable to the Client and sourced to verifiable public or administrative records: (i) Identification limb (STRONG_ID pattern), identification of a specific pension scheme, fund, administrator, policy reference, contribution record or statutory entitlement, together with the sourced route to contact that fund or administrator (the limb engaged in markets where public provider-level identification from employment history is structurally available, e.g. the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, France, Switzerland); OR (ii) Access-map limb (guidance-value patterns), a verified, sourced access-map materially beyond what a free public register check returns, comprising (1) where the Client's pension record is held, (2) the verified route to reach that record from abroad including the credential or administrative gate that applies, (3) the dated deadlines that materially affect the value of the entitlement, (4) the material traps that demonstrably cost departed members money or entitlement, and (5) the Client's entitlement position on the facts available. This limb is engaged in markets where no public service can identify a specific provider from employment history alone (including but not limited to Australia, Germany, Spain, Italy, Canada, Japan, Belgium, Luxembourg, South Africa, Ireland, New Zealand, Hong Kong, the United Arab Emirates, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Singapore, Malaysia, India and Vietnam). For the avoidance of doubt, the access-map limb requires substantive verified content beyond a single free-register lookup; a bare restatement of publicly listed portal URLs without the access route, deadlines, traps and entitlement position does not satisfy this limb. The limb engaged for a given Client is determined by the structural pension architecture of the country or countries searched, as set out on the relevant country page at the time of order and in the delivered report. Both limbs are equally capable of constituting findings of meaningful value; neither limb is treated as inferior to the other. The tier-by-tier refund eligibility set out below applies this two-limb definition consistently. (a) PensionHunter Country Pension Identification Report (USD 99), the full fee is refunded where the automated Country Pension Identification Report delivers nothing material under either limb, or only findings the Client could reasonably have located themselves through a free government register check (e.g. a single confirmation already available via a national pension tracing service with no additional provider, policy, entitlement, access route, deadline or trap information). The fee is not refunded where the report returns (under the identification limb) a named fund or administrator with the sourced route to contact them, policy references, scheme administrator contact details, or entitlement indicators beyond a free register lookup; or (under the access-map limb) a verified access-map for the country searched comprising where records are held, the route from abroad, the deadlines affecting the entitlement's value, the material traps and the entitlement position, beyond a free register lookup. (b) PensionHunter Enhanced Pension Identification Report (USD 499), the full fee is refunded where, following AI-assisted research and expert manual follow-up, no findings of meaningful value under either limb are produced, or where findings are limited to LOW-value administrative confirmations with no provider, policy reference, scheme administrator contact, entitlement information, verified access route, dated deadline, material trap or entitlement position of practical use to the Client. The fee is not refunded where HIGH or MEDIUM value findings are produced under either limb, meaning, under the identification limb, provider name with policy reference, scheme administrator contact details, contribution history or entitlement information sufficient for the Client to pursue the pension; or, under the access-map limb, a verified access-map plus entitlement position sufficient for the Client to reach the record from their country of residence within the applicable deadlines. (c) PensionHunter Global Pension Identification Report (USD 799), the full fee is refunded where, following AI-assisted research and expert manual follow-up across all the countries searched, no HIGH or MEDIUM value findings under either limb are produced in any country. The fee is not refunded where HIGH or MEDIUM value findings under either limb are produced in any one country searched, applying the same definition as in (b) above. Refund eligibility is determined at identification, before the report is delivered, on whether research identified anything material. It is never dependent on what a pension administrator does or does not reply to the Client after the Client sends an information request. For the avoidance of doubt, a refund is issued where research delivers no findings of meaningful value as defined above. A refund is not issued where findings of meaningful value (under either limb) are delivered but the Client chooses not to contact a provider, claim a benefit, follow the verified access route or otherwise take any further action. The delivery of findings of meaningful value discharges PensionHunter's research obligation under these Terms. Where the Client disputes whether findings meet the meaningful-value threshold under either limb, PensionHunter will review the case in good faith and respond in writing within 10 business days. Refunds are processed to the original payment method within 10 business days of PensionHunter's written confirmation to the Client that the refund eligibility criteria in this section are met.

8. Upgrades

A Client who has purchased a report may upgrade to the Enhanced Pension Identification Report or the Global Pension Identification Report at any time. The upgrade fee is the full fee for that report less the USD 99 already paid, namely USD 400 to upgrade to the Enhanced Pension Identification Report or USD 700 to upgrade to the Global Pension Identification Report. The upgraded service is then governed by the service terms and refund policy for that report as set out above.

9. Ordering and Payment

Country Pension Identification Report, Search and Global are available for purchase at the prices displayed at checkout. The Free Pension Checker is provided free of charge, requires no payment details, and personal data supplied to it is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

10. Delivery

Pension Identification Reports are delivered within 24 to 48 hours of order confirmation. Search orders are typically completed within five working days of receipt of the completed intake form, and Global orders within ten working days. Where an order requires longer, PensionHunter will update the Client in writing.

11. How It Works

PensionHunter does not hold client funds. We provide a written research report (the 'Action Pack', previously the 'Personal Pension Register') containing pension provider contact details, policy references and entitlement information identified during our research. You contact the pension provider directly using the information in the report (Country Pension Identification Report), or using the prepared information requests delivered with your Action Pack (Search and Global).

12. No Guarantee of Results

While we use advanced research tools and technology, results are not guaranteed. Pension research depends on the cooperation of pension providers, the availability and accuracy of historical records, and the completeness of the information you provide. We will always conduct a thorough search, but we cannot guarantee that every entitlement will be identified. Where Section 7 refund eligibility is met, the fee is refunded in full as set out in that section.

13. Your Responsibilities

You agree to provide accurate and truthful information when using our service. Providing false information (including a false name or date of birth) may constitute fraud and will result in immediate termination of our services without refund.
