We are putting the same 10 questions, in the same words, to the national pension institution of each of the 139 countries on our world map: 41 countries we research and 98 we have mapped. This page lists every country, the institution, the questions and where each stands. The answers themselves are published on /answers, with the institution named as the source and the date of the reply. Who we wrote to in the reachability study, and how long each reply took, is on the authority answers scoreboard. We name institutions, never people.

The 10 questions
Questions 1 to 5 are the substantive questions of our reachability study, so an answer given to the study counts here.
- Contact. How may a former member now living abroad contact you, in writing, from outside the country?
- Identity. Can that person establish their identity to you without a national digital identity credential, and if not what is the alternative?
- Presence. Can an application be completed in full without the person physically appearing in the country?
- Death. Where a member has died abroad, what is the route for their heirs and what documents are required?
- Discovery. Is there any register, statement or service through which a person may discover an entitlement they have forgotten?
- Figures. Do you count or publish figures on entitlements that remain unpaid, or on members you can no longer reach, and if so where?
- Insurance record. How may a former member living abroad obtain a statement of the insurance periods or contributions you hold for them?
- Periods abroad. How are periods of work or insurance completed in other countries taken into account, and under which agreements?
- Representative. May a relative or another authorised person make a request for the member, and what do you require from them?
- Publication. We will publish your answer on our answers page, naming your institution as the source and stating the date of your reply. If anything in it is wrong or incomplete, tell us and we will correct it in public, in full, beside the original. May we publish it on those terms?

How this index is built
- The institution for each country is the national body that pays the contributory old age pension, read on its own official pages, or for the countries we research the body our reachability study wrote to, unless our record shows another body is the one to ask.
- Statuses come from one committed record of the letters we have sent, with the date each went out and the date of any reply. Our connector's authority_answer tool reads the same record, so both say the same thing. A letter is added to it only once it has gone, with its date.
- Asked, no answer yet means our latest letter went out on the date shown and no answer is on our record. It is the same wording whatever time has passed. Countries are listed in alphabetical order and are not ranked.
- Who we wrote to in the reachability study, when each replied and how long the reply took is on the authority answers scoreboard. Any institution may correct its row through the right of reply.
- What people tell us after contacting a pension institution is published on reachability outcomes.
