Deadline register

Denmark pension deadlines for people who left

We list every obligation we have verified in Denmark's pension system that runs on a time limit for someone who no longer lives there. Each row says what starts the clock, how long it runs and what is lost, with the official source and the date we checked it. We hold 14 rows for Denmark. Where an official source is silent, we say so on the row rather than guess.

Pick the year and we open the free checker with Denmark already selected.

How long
Annually - for the 2026 cycle Udbetaling Danmark must have the life certificate no later than 31 August 2026
What is lost
The source states that if you do not confirm you are alive, Udbetaling Danmark can, under the pension act, stop paying your pension: "Hvis du ikke bekræfter, at du er i live, kan Udbetaling Danmark, ifølge pensionsloven, stoppe med at udbetale pension til dig". It further states that if you confirm after the deadline you will only receive pension again from the 1st of the month after Udbetaling Danmark has received your reply: "Bekræfter du efter fristen, vil du først få pension igen fra den 1. i måneden, efter Udbetaling Danmark har modtaget dit svar". (Note: the page states residents of Australia, France, the Netherlands, Iceland, Norway, Poland, Switzerland, Spain, Sweden and Germany do not normally receive a life certificate request.)

If you live outside Denmark and receive folkepension, førtidspension or seniorpension, you must confirm every year that you are alive by returning a life certificate (leveattest) to Udbetaling Danmark.
