- What starts the clock
- Masa Iur (the contribution period) is counted from the start of the participant's contributions and is measured as of the date the participant reaches Usia Pensiun (Retirement Age)
- How long
- The participant must have accumulated at least 15 (lima belas) tahun of Masa Iur by the time they reach Usia Pensiun; if less than 15 years, the lump sum refund is paid on the 1st day of the month following the month in which the participant reaches Retirement Age
- What is lost
- Peserta berhak mendapatkan seluruh akumulasi Iurannya ditambah hasil pengembangannya (the participant is entitled only to the full accumulation of their contributions plus investment returns, paid as a one time lump sum, instead of the periodic monthly Manfaat Pensiun)
The periodic old age pension benefit is received by a Participant who has reached Retirement Age and has a Contribution Period of at least 15 years. If a Participant reaches Retirement Age before completing a 15 year Contribution Period, they are instead entitled to the full accumulation of their Contributions plus investment returns as a lump sum.
What the source does not say
The regulation does not state whether periods of contribution made while working or residing abroad count toward the 15 year Masa Iur, nor whether gaps in contribution can be filled retroactively to reach 15 years.
