Romania pension deadlines for people who left
We list every obligation we have verified in Romania's pension system that runs on a time limit for someone who no longer lives there. Each row says what starts the clock, how long it runs and what is lost, with the official source and the date we checked it. We hold 2 rows for Romania. Where an official source is silent, we say so on the row rather than guess.
Pick the year and we open the free checker with Romania already selected.
- What starts the clock
- Date the retirement conditions are met (data îndeplinirii condiţiilor de pensionare).
- How long
- Within 30 calendar days of meeting the conditions
- What is lost
- Rights are granted starting from the date the application is registered, not from the date conditions were met.
The old-age pension (pensia pentru limită de vârstă) is granted from the date the retirement conditions are met only if the application is registered within 30 calendar days of that date; if the application is registered after that deadline, rights are granted from the date the application is registered.
What the source does not say
The source does not call the later start a loss of arrears; it states that rights begin from the date the application is registered. The page was last modified on 11 October 2024 and cites Law 360/2023 on the public pension system.
