What we identify for an estate
When someone dies, workplace and personal pensions, along with death-in-service benefits, can sit untouched if the executor is unaware they exist. Executors normally rely on the deceased's paperwork, HMRC records and requests to former employers to reconstruct the picture.
A Pension Identification Report establishes what pension interests existed in the deceased's name, with the source behind every entry, in a document that files with the estate papers.
We prepare each information request for the executor, written and ready to send. The executor signs and sends each one, and providers respond to the executor directly. We never write to providers for the executor and we hold no authority. We identify only. We do not give financial, pension or investment advice.
Free routes first
The UK government's free Pension Tracing Service and equivalent public registries in other jurisdictions remain available to executors and next of kin. Pension providers cannot release information to unauthorised third parties.
We write to most pension authorities in the countries we cover, stay in contact with them and update our facts as they answer. Read their written answers.
The authority answers scoreboard shows, country by country, who we wrote to and whether they have replied.

If our report does not name who holds a pension in your name, or give you a verified route to your own record beyond a free register check, we refund you in full. This is decided at identification, before delivery.
