After leaving Spain

Your pension after leaving Spain

A worker with FEWER THAN 15 years in Spain gets ZERO Spanish pension, unless EU coordination or the Ibero-American Multilateral Convention aggregates their foreign years to clear the 15-year cliff; and Spain never pays it automatically.

Frequently asked questions

Can I still claim my Spain pension if I live abroad?

The official from-abroad route is an FNMT certificado acreditado issued in person at a Spanish Consulate (consular timeframes apply). A fully-online from-abroad route remains UNKNOWN.

What happens to a Spain pension if I do nothing?

The right to recognition is imprescriptible, but the pension is never auto-paid and each unclaimed monthly arrear lapses one year after it falls due; there is no dormant register.

Do you give financial advice on what to do with a Spain pension?

No. We identify the scheme and access route. We do not advise on transfer, consolidation, drawdown, or taxation, those decisions belong with a regulated adviser in your country of residence.

What if you find nothing?

Full refund. Our report is a fixed $99 fee; if it delivers nothing material, you pay nothing.
