Pension question, India
How do I find an old PF account?
EPFO Unified Member Portal (UAN): Check your EPF (Provident Fund) balance, passbook and contribution history, run by the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation. A former employee who left India two decades ago has no live Aadhaar, often no UAN at all because the number only began in 2014, and no Indian bank account to receive a settlement.

What to do next
- Look for a PF account number or UAN on old payslips or a relieving letter.
- List each Indian employer and the years you worked there.
- Run our free check, then order a report if you want us to identify what is held in your name.

What does the member portal ask for?
The member portal asks for one thing: an activated Universal Account Number, and EPFO allots that number through the employer or generates it from Aadhaar.

Do you give advice on what to do?
No. We identify where a pension is likely held and the official route to it, and we name each source with the date we read it. We do not give financial, tax or legal advice.
