Where are my pensions? A free map of every country you worked in

Our free map answers the first half of that question: where to look. Choose the countries you worked in and the years, and the map shows, for each country, the official record or institution, the official route and any dated deadline that applies, each with its source and the date we read it. It needs no sign in, it saves as a PNG or a PDF, and its share link holds only country codes and years. It covers the 41 countries we research and the mapped countries where we name the institution that pays the old age pension.

What does the map show for a country we research?

The official record or portal where a pension record sits, from our government pension portals directory, with the domain it lives on and the date we last verified it. For the United Kingdom, the map names Find pension contact details (Pension Tracing Service) on gov.uk, which we verified on 6 September 2026.

It also shows dated deadlines from our Cross-Border Pension Deadline Register. A deadline appears only when it has a fixed date still ahead and passes the same applicability gates as our free check, on the years you give. Where a rule turns on a situation the map cannot know, we leave it out rather than show it to everyone. Rows whose official wording we could not re-confirm on 24 September 2026 are held back.

What does it show for a mapped country?

A mapped country is one we have mapped but not yet researched in depth. For each one the map carries this line, word for word: "Mapped: we name the institution and the official route; we have not yet researched this country in depth."

Below it we show the institution that pays the old age pension, its official website and any official form for people abroad, each read on the institution's own pages and dated. There is no order link for a mapped country, because there is no report to order yet.

What does the share link contain?

Country codes and years, and nothing else. A map of two countries looks like this: /where-are-my-pensions?c=GB:2012-2015,NL:2016-2019. The page reads only that one parameter, keeps only items of that exact shape for a country we hold data on, and drops anything else in the address. It never asks for a name, an email address or a document, so there is nothing personal in a link you send to a partner or post in a forum.

How do I save it?

Press Save as PNG or Save as PDF. Your browser draws the image from the facts on the page, so nothing is sent to us to make it.

What does the map not do?

It does not research your employers, name a pension scheme, fill in a form or estimate an amount, and it cannot tell you whether a pension exists in your name. Those questions belong to the free check, which reads your own work history, and to a Country Pension Identification Report at $99 per country, which names the scheme, who holds the record today and how to reach them, with sources. We identify and research; we do not give advice.

Sources

Our government pension portals directory, each entry with the date we verified it. Our Cross-Border Pension Deadline Register, each row with its official source, re-checked on 24 September 2026. Mapped country facts, each read on the institution's own official page on the date the map shows.

Try the alternative first

AI can tell you what a pension is. It cannot tell you that you have one. It is genuinely good at explaining how a rule works, and if that is all you needed, you have saved yourself a fee.

Then ask it which scheme holds your money and who administers it today, and ask it for the source and the date it checked. Why that is where it ends
