Pension question, Norway

How long do you have to work in Norway to get a pension?

Five years of insurance time opens the right, and NAV states that years lived or worked in an EEA country, or in a country Norway has an agreement with, are added to your Norwegian years to reach it. So a few Norwegian years produce a real lifelong payment rather than nothing.

What does the guarantee pension need?

Above that sits a guarantee pension, but full rate needs 40 years of insurance time and it is reduced in proportion below that.

No. We identify where a pension is likely held and the official route to it, and we name each source with the date we read it. We do not give financial, tax or legal advice.
