Country rules on record
The Belgian Pensions Ombudsman can refuse to handle a complaint about events that happened more than a year ago.

A Belgian pension application can only be filed inside a fixed window: no earlier than 12 months before, and no later than the month before, the date the pension is to start.

A surviving spouse who must apply has to file the survivor's pension or transitional allowance application within 12 months of the death to have it start at the death; a later application starts only from the month after it is filed, and the transitional allowance can be lost outright.
What is lost: The survivor's pension or transitional allowance only takes effect in the month following the application, and the transitional allowance can definitively be lost because of its temporary nature.

After receiving the second-pillar leaving certificate, a departing employee has 30 days to tell the employer what to do with the accrued reserves.
What is lost: If you do not respond, the employer assumes you are staying with the existing pension institution (option 1).

Accrual of the 2024-2025 Belgian pension bonus stopped on 31 December 2025 and no further bonus of that kind can be built up from 1 January 2026.
