A Social Security Allowance recipient who spends too much of the payment year outside Hong Kong loses allowance: you must be physically in Hong Kong for at least 60 days in each payment year, and total absence must not exceed 305 days (306 in a leap year).
What is lost: "If a Social Security Allowance recipient has resided in Hong Kong for less than 60 days in a payment year, he/she is not entitled to any absence allowance in that year. He/She is eligible to receive allowance only for the periods during which he/she has resided in Hong Kong. If any overpayment involved, the recipient/guardian/appointee must refund the overpaid allowance to SWD."
