How is an NSSI PIK code issued?

The PIK itself is handed over in person at an NSSI territorial division against a Bulgarian identity card. NSSI's own page states that requests for a PIK sent by post are not processed and that issued PIK certificates are not sent by post.

What does the NSSI portal accept?

NSSI's single portal for electronic services accepts only a PIK from NSSI, a PIK from the revenue agency, or a qualified electronic signature, and since 1 January 2026 primary reference information is available through that portal alone.
