Pension question, Hong Kong
What happens to my MPF when I leave Hong Kong?
After a person stops working in Hong Kong, if the eMPF Platform receives no instruction from them within three months of the employer notifying it of the termination, their MPF is moved automatically out of the contribution account into a personal account. Employer mandatory contributions are fully and immediately vested in the employee once paid in, so nothing was forfeited when the job ended.

Can several MPF accounts be put together?
A scheme member who holds more than one MPF personal account may consolidate them into a single trustee and scheme of their choice.
Do you give advice on what to do?
No. We identify where a pension is likely held and the official route to it, and we name each source with the date we read it. We do not give financial, tax or legal advice.
