Pension question, Malaysia
What happens to my EPF savings after three years without contributions?
A non citizen member's EPF account, registered on or after 1 August 1998, is transferred out of the EPF once no contribution has been credited to it for three years. The fund also states that savings in this position are moved out to the Accountant General's Department under section 70H, and that anything after that is handled with that department and not with the EPF.

Does the balance keep earning dividends?
For a non-Malaysian member registered on or after 1 August 1998, once three years pass with no contribution credited, the dividend stops being credited, so the balance sits frozen rather than growing.

Do you give advice on what to do?
No. We identify where a pension is likely held and the official route to it, and we name each source with the date we read it. We do not give financial, tax or legal advice.
