Pension question, Malaysia

How do I withdraw my EPF when leaving Malaysia?

The EPF pays only on an application, and the Leaving Country route lists its channels as self-service terminals and EPF offices in Malaysia, with no online submission through i-Akaun for this type. The EPF says expatriates should apply two months before a work pass expires or a contract ends, which for most people abroad is long past.

What proof of departure is asked for?

The departure itself must be evidenced from the Immigration Department: a cancelled work pass for expatriates, a Check-Out Memo for foreign workers, papers issued at the moment you left and rarely kept.

Do you give advice on what to do?

No. We identify where a pension is likely held and the official route to it, and we name each source with the date we read it. We do not give financial, tax or legal advice.
