Pension question, Philippines
How many SSS contributions do I need for a pension?
A lifetime monthly SSS pension, instead of a one time lump sum, requires at least 120 monthly contributions before the semester of retirement. A member who has not met the 120 contribution threshold instead receives a one time lump sum equal to total contributions paid plus interest earned.

Do periods in other countries count?
Sixteen countries have agreements with the Philippines, and those agreements add up creditable periods in both systems to decide eligibility.

Do you give advice on what to do?
No. We identify where a pension is likely held and the official route to it, and we name each source with the date we read it. We do not give financial, tax or legal advice.
