Pension question, Philippines
Do SSS pensioners abroad need an annual confirmation?
An SSS retirement pensioner living outside the Philippines must comply with the Annual Confirmation of Pensioners (ACOP) programme each year, or the monthly pension is automatically suspended one month after the pensioner's birth month. Once an SSS pension has been suspended for failure to comply with ACOP, the pensioner is automatically cancelled two years after the month of suspension.
What to do next
- Put the month after your birth month in your diary each year.
- Keep your SSS number and pension papers together.
- Run our free check to see whether another country also holds a pension for you.

Can the confirmation be done online?
Online annual confirmation opens with one question, whether the pensioner is PhilSys registered, and a No ends the session.

Do you give advice on what to do?
No. We identify where a pension is likely held and the official route to it, and we name each source with the date we read it. We do not give financial, tax or legal advice.
