Pension question, Singapore

Can I withdraw my CPF if I give up my PR?

CPF Board states that for renunciation on or after 1 April 2024, the member may close their own CPF account and transfer the savings to their bank account once renunciation is completed; otherwise the account will be automatically closed in the following month. The savings can still be transferred to a bank account at any time.

What to do next

  1. Find the date your renunciation of PR or citizenship was completed.
  2. Keep your CPF account number and a bank account in your name ready.
  3. Run our free check to see which other countries may hold a pension in your name.

What interest does a closed account earn?

Once a CPF account is closed because the member is no longer a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident, remaining savings stop earning the prevailing CPF interest and, as a concession, earn interest similar to commercial bank rates until 31 March 2027.

Do you give advice on what to do?
